Every two years Sport Newcastle recognises the Unsung Heroes of local sport at our biennial awards evening.
The 2024 event took place at Kingston Park, the home of Premiership rugby club Newcastle Falcons, and celebrated the key contributions of individuals making a difference across the North East.
There are hundreds of volunteers working with sport who give their time freely and who are passionate advocates of sport’s positivity and inclusivity.
But our awards are not restricted to volunteers — past winners have also included those working within the sport sector and going above and beyond to support leagues, clubs, players and coaches.
Without these Unsung Heroes many clubs would not exist and thousands of young people would never get a chance to follow the sport they love.
Sport Newcastle is always happy to accept nominations from club committee members, parents or players who would like to recognise the invaluable work of these exceptional individuals.
