Grants to individuals

If you’re an individual athlete seeking additional funding to achieve your goals, then Sport Newcastle can help. It’s what we’re here for and we meet four times a year to distribute money where it’s needed most.

Once you’ve decided which grant to apply for (please refer to the Performance Awards Pathway section for guidance) your application should go through your club. The form for individual grants needs to be completed by your club and must include a reference from a club official. It’s essential that every section of the application form is completed before we can make an award.

We’re aware that many families and clubs are struggling with the increase in the cost of living. That’s why we’ve created a hardship fund for individual grants and we’re also able to subsidise clubs/organisations with membership/subscription costs. Applications to this fund from individuals must also come through your club/organisation. The maximum grant awarded to an individual from this fund is £250 (the usual limit of £1,000 applies to clubs/organisations).
