Gold Award recipient Lucy Dodd continues to make a racquet on the international badminton scene after becoming the first Northumberland player to represent England in 15 years!
The Under 17 prospect is ranked number two nationally in mixed doubles and the 2022 Sport Newcastle Rising Star is a regular on podiums across the UK.
“Lucy has great potential to reach the top of her sport,” said her proud coach. “She has an excellent attitude towards all aspects of training.”
Training up to 12 hours per week and contributing to court hire and travel costs puts constant pressure on Lucy’s limited resources and Sport Newcastle’s Roger Tames said: “It’s great to know that a gold award can have such a positive effect.
“We’re wishing Lucy all the best for a successful 2024 and look forward to seeing how she gets on.”
