World Championship-bound Daisy Armstrong has a shot at the big time after Sport Newcastle approved a silver award for the hot prospect.

The fullbore rifle star is a member of the Great Britain Under 21 squad headed to South Africa later this year.

And her coach explained: “Daisy’s potential has been identified by coaches with GB and England and she’s already emerged as a supportive and positive team member.”

Daisy has represented GB at Under 17, Under 18 and Under 19 level and was the youngest winner of the coveted Alexandra competition — held at Bisley — as a 15-year-old.

Our silver award will enable the talented athlete to part cover her travel costs to South Africa and Sport Newcastle’s Mike Booth said: “We’re delighted for Daisy.

“She has a proven track record in international competition and we’ll be following her progress in South Africa every step of the way.”
